Cole Valley
Cole Valley is a small, family-friendly community in the center of the city that remains beloved by residents in the neighborhood. Many residents in the area say that once you move here, you never want to live anywhere else! Tree-shaded streets are lined with well-kept Victorian homes, and a variety of mom-and-pop shops and relaxed restaurants, including a 1930s-inspired soda fountain. The neighborhood offers convenient access to multiple outdoor areas including the compact Tank Hill Park with its panoramic views, the dense eucalyptus forest of the Mount Sutro Open Space Reserve, and classic trails all through Golden Gate Park.
Cole Valley’s main commercial corridor is located on Cole Street. Many San Francisco institutions are located here, and they collaborate to create an inviting neighborhood feel, including Cole Hardware, Zazie, and The Ice Cream Shop. While there are no public or private middle or high schools within its borders, Cole Valley is central to other schools nearby including a French immersion school.
