West Portal is a charming San Francisco neighborhood that retains a timeless feel with a slower pace and tranquil lifestyle. Located just west of Twin Peaks, it was aptly named to describe the streetcar portal, West Portal Station, connects to the west quadrant of the city. The properties in the area are characterized by rows of detached single-family homes on peaceful tree-lined streets bordering either side of its central commercial street, West Portal Avenue. A main highlight of the area is Stern Grove, a 33-acre green space located just southwest of West Portal. This outdoor space offers abundant dog runs for your furry pals, as well as tennis, bocce ball, and putting. During the summer months, the park hosts free Sunday afternoon concerts on its renowned Concert Meadow.
